Thoughts already in Paris

This time, the road to here was really long. It took more than 2 years of qualifications, the World Championship, the European Championship, many World Cups, and at least 3 preparatory expeditions. Countless training sessions and daily coordination of form and regeneration. Just getting to the Olympic Games in our discipline is a great reward, achievement and honor, you go there to represent your country, sport, association and ultimately your family and yourself.

I have been to the Olympics 3 times already, and every time it was like the first time. It is simply such a big thing for me as an athlete that it can never become a routine. And I get countless questions: It will probably easier for you now, given that you are participating in the Games for the fourth time? Do you still have enough motivation for these Olympics, given that you already have a gold medal from Tokyo? The head may be trying to think like that, but the heart is beating the same way it did before those first games in London, 12 years ago. Maybe a little worse, because I have already tasted victory and the goals are already higher.

In short, I want to forget what happened until now, how hard the road was to get there, and what I have achieved so far. I am going to Paris with a clear head and the desire in my heart to bring home a medal, just like before every Olimpics until now.

Thanks again to everyone for your support from London, Rio, Tokyo and all the way to Paris.

 Paris, me voilà!

Paris, me voilà!.
